Kay LodgeI welcome you to our Federation Website, and hope that you will find it interesting.

I’ve been a WI member for 47 years, joining a new WI at its formation in 1969.  Throughout the years I have been a committee member, and have served in all three officer jobs. I have been very involved with Baddow Hall WI’s drama group, producing many different shows, pantomimes, Old Tyme Music Halls and a variety of short programmes.  My hobbies include attending a Tap Dancing class each week, and scrapbooking.

I was invited to be a WI adviser in 2004, and completed training in 2005.  In 2006 I was co-opted onto the Board of Trustees, where my roles have been vice chairman, chairman of the Arts & Leisure committee, and have assisted with the Essex News.  I have also organised the InterWI Quiz tournaments each year since 2008.

I married in 1964 (although widowed in 1985), and have 4 children, all of whom have married and have produced my 9 grandchildren, now aged between 11 to 21.   I’m extremely proud of them all, as they pursue their interests in various sports, music, dance and gymnastics.

Now as County Chairman I’m looking forward to our Centenary year and the exciting projects ahead, and to meeting many of our members at forthcoming events.
